West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced a statewide goodwill rally on January 22, coinciding with the consecration of the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Leading the rally herself in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee plans to ride a scooter to a mosque in the Park Circus area, where she will offer a chadar.
The rally is scheduled to begin from Hazra Mor, close to the CM residence, and culminate at Park Circus ground. Before commencing the rally, Mamata Banerjee will offer prayers at the Kalighat temple and later address the crowd at Park Circus, a Muslim-dominated area. This initiative is seen as an attempt to convey a message of religious inclusivity, as the Chief Minister emphasizes unity and rejects discrimination based on religion.
